The Kealey Classic exists for one reason: Dev. He loved with his whole heart and wore it on his sleeve. He wasn't afraid to speak his mind, and his voice carried so much weight. Whatever he took on, he gave it 110%.
Dev played hockey his whole life, at just about every level. On the ice he was a grinder. He looked out for his teammates and stepped in first when someone needed backing up. The hockey community that showed up for him ran deep.
In April 2025, we lost him at just 28. The Kealey Classic began as a promise made in his memory: to bring old friends back together every Christmas for a night on the ice, just like old times. The first Classic put 30 players back on the ice and sold more than 500 tickets, and together we raised over $20,000 for the Ottawa Mission, a place that mattered to Dev.
Watching old friends reconnect that day, people who hadn't seen each other in years, was something none of us will forget. That's what this event is all about: a day to play the game he loved, remember him the way he'd want, and do some good in his name.
